Presented by TransCen, Inc.
In a series of three webinars, Sara Murphy, director of TransCen's WorkLink division, will discuss how to use Day Habilitation Services to build meaningful lives and create pathways to community employment for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In these times of significant change and extreme challenges, State agencies, providers and schools must think differently and use state/federal resources in creative ways. This webinar series will help us reframe how we see “Day Programs” and will provide field-tested tools and strategies for building person-driven services and pathways to community employment.
For many provider agencies, teaching and supporting people in community settings requires a completely different approach to program planning and service delivery. Creating individualized schedules and juggling the supports and logistics involved can be complicated. During this webinar, Ms. Murphy will share insights and strategies for creating person-centered services, supporting field-based teams and addressing the challenges of teaching in real world settings. We will discuss possible solutions for logistical issues, how to serve individuals with more significant disabilities and making change during challenging times.
