Training, Events, and Opportunities to Participate
Applications are open for National Provider Organizations to join the Office of Disability Employment Policy's (ODEP) National Expansion of Employment Opportunities Network (NEON) initiative. This program will provide technical support to provider organizations in developing strategic plans to effectively increase competitive integrated employment opportunities for individuals with significant disabilities. Applications are due December 16, 2019.
The Collaborative on Health Reform and Independent Living (CHRIL) is conducting the 2019 National Survey on Health and Disability to understand how access to health care and insurance may be affecting the lives of people with disabilities. The survey is open to US adults over 18 years old, with any disability and any type of health care coverage, including no coverage. For more information, call 855-556-6328 (Voice/TTY) or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Participants may also complete the survey by phone. Participants will have a chance to win a $100 gift card.
A new campaign jointly sponsored by Special Olympics, Autism Speaks, and Best Buddies encourages employers and others to recognize the value people with intellectual and developmental disabilities offer America’s workplaces. Delivering Jobs aims to create pathways to one million employment and leadership opportunities for people with autism, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities by 2025. To support this, the campaign offers employers the opportunity to self-assess their hiring and employment practices, access a resource library, and make a pledge to increased inclusion and accessibility.
