March: Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month

Every March, the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities (NACDD) and its partners lead the annual campaign to raise awareness and promote strong communities where people with disabilities are included.

NACDD’s 2025 theme, We’re Here All Year, emphasizes that accessibility and inclusion should be championed every day—not just in March. 

“The World’s First Astronaut with a Physical Disability Is Cleared for Long-Duration Space Missions”

A former Paralympian for Great Britain has just become the first astronaut with a disability to receive medical clearance for long-duration space missions. The European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut corps member is now eligible to train for a flight to the International Space Station (ISS).
