Webinar: Crafts, Campfires, and Canoes: Accessibility and Summer Camps (4-1-2015)

Nature hikes. Canoe rides. Creek exploration. Stargazing. Campfire songs and s’mores. Whether it is day camp or sleepaway camp, these summer programs are great development opportunities for all kids. But how do you make sure the supports are in place so that kids with disabilities have a great time too? This 90-minute webinar with national park and recreation accessibility consultant Jennifer Skulski discussed key ADA requirements, policy modifications, safety concerns, and considerations for auxiliary aids for effective communication. This is an ideal session for camp directors preparing for summer programming as well as disability advocates and parents working with their local recreation providers.
