Accessibility in Athletics: Finding the Freedom of Movement in the ADA

This is a 30 minute session.

Former Paralympic athlete, Natalie McCarthy will discuss the application of the ADA in athletic programs. She will review briefly the ADA requirements for gyms, fitness centers, swimming pools and recreation facilities. Natalie will explore accommodation options that allow athletes with disabilities to participate in sports and talk about her own experience requesting and receiving accommodations and her participation in the Paralympic movement.
