The Mid Atlantic ADA Center provides basic to advanced level training workshops on all areas covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Our center coordinates and conducts regional conferences, individual state training workshops, local trainings, presentations, and seminars on the ADA. Through our long-standing relationships with the key federal agencies involved in implementing and enforcing the ADA we have access to the latest and most current information on new and proposed regulations. As a result, our training reflects the most up to date information available on all areas of the ADA and related disability laws.

ADA National Network training initiatives:
Hospitality & Disability
This initiative promotes accessibility and opportunity for people with disabilities within the hospitality industry. Specialized training, materials, and technical assistance are available for operators of restaurants, hotels, motels, and other places of lodging. The initiative offers information on serving customers with disabilities, as well as recruiting, hiring, accommodating, and employing workers with disabilities.
ADA Courses and Tutorials
This initiative offers various courses and customized training on the ADA and disability-related topics, including the opportunity for education credit and/or certificates, such as continuing education units (CEU) and Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC).
ADA Audio Conference Series
These conference series provide brief (90 minute) sessions, available through telephone or online streaming audio technologies. These sessions offer participants the opportunity to interact with nationally recognized experts on the ADA and other disability-related subjects. Continuing education credits are available for many of the sessions.
Podcast Series
The Disability Law Lowdown initiative offers presentations in the podcast format. Experts present information on a variety of topics related to the ADA and other disability laws. Sessions may address legal concepts or specific issues and commonly asked questions.
Webcasts
This initiative consists of online trainings that cover an array of disability-related subjects, including the ADA and other disability laws, advocacy, independent living, health issues, minority populations with disabilities, and more. Transcripts from previous sessions are also available.
Title II of the ADA for ADA Coordinators
This FREE online tutorial is a valuable educational tool to orient ADA coordinators in their roles, and address key ADA related requirements applicable to state and local governments under Title II of the ADA. This tutorial is approved for 0.3 CEU and 3 CRCC clock hours.
ADA Basics Building Blocks
This is an introductory web course that explores the legal requirements and the spirit of the ADA. Two versions are available:
- A FREE self-paced course organized into 12 topics that have been designed to be studied in order.
- An 8-week, moderated course that emphasizes the thought process required to answer questions about the ADA. Both versions cover the basic principles and core concepts contained in the ADA, with interactive application exercises provided throughout the course to help participants apply newly learned concepts. Participants report increased knowledge about ADA-related issues important to their jobs. The moderated version has been approved for 14 CRCC credit hours and 1.5 CEU credits. (Available in English and Spanish).
At Your Service: Welcoming Customers with Disabilities to Your One Stop Center
This FREE online, self-paced web course is designed primarily for frontline staff and others interested in learning about ways to create an accessible and welcoming environment for customers with disabilities. Participants will increase their understanding of the needs and experiences of people with disabilities, learn how to adjust general customer service standards to meet the needs of customers with disabilities, and develop basic disability etiquette for interacting with customers. This course has been approved for 0.5 CEU and 5 CRCC credit hours.
Accessibility Online
This initiative provides training on DOJs 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards, the Architectural Barriers Act and Americans with Disabilities Act (ABA/ADA) Accessibility Guidelines, and electronic and information technology accessibility standards. Sessions are held on a monthly basis and cover a variety of topics concerning accessibility to the built environment, information and communication technologies, and transportation.
ADA Employment Webcourse 
A FREE, self-paced webcourse available 24/7 on the employment requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act, including the important changes made by the ADA Amendments Act of 2008.
ADA Symposium
The National ADA Symposium is a premier ADA training event. Held annually, this three-day conference offers dozens of in-depth sessions covering a diverse assortment of topics, from basic to advanced. Opportunities such as the "breakfast round tables" facilitate networking and problem-solving for the hundreds of attendees, including ADA Coordinators, disability services providers, businesses, individuals with disabilities, advocates, architects and designers.
